{baby} Second session with Baby Maxton

I can hardly believe Maxton is already six months old. What a cutie – those cheeks! We did his second session of the Baby’s First Year set at Cabell’s Mill in Fairfax. It is a terrific spot for children’s photos, even on a steamy summer afternoon. (I will say, after Maxton’s session, I came to the conclusion that outdoor sessions in 95+ degree weather are not a great idea for anyone, and my weather policy may now need to include rain checks for heat in addition to cold or rain.)

Here are a few of my favorites from Maxton’s session:

September Mini-Sessions: Cabell’s Mill in Fairfax, Pt. 3

This beautiful family contacted me just in time to grab a cancellation spot in my mini-session schedule. I love the boundless energy of little boys – a 30-minute shoot is a riot of activity, punctuated with Cheerios breaks. Thank goodness for a location with room to run and lots of different spots for a guy to explore while that stranger has a camera in his face! 😉

September Mini-Sessions: Cabell’s Mill in Fairfax, Pt. 2

I didn’t know when I woke up on Saturday that I’d get to do glamor shots for this gorgeous sweetheart.

Her mama had assembled a fashionista-worthy ensemble from beret to ballet flats! What fun to ham it up with lots of silly faces and playful poses. I thought the Polaroid frame really worked with the fun shots we were taking. Way to go!

September Mini-Sessions: Cabell’s Mill in Fairfax, Pt. 1

Cabell’s Mill in Elanor Lawrence Park, in Fairfax, VA, is a FANTASTIC place to shoot photos. I am so grateful to long-time client Tara Miller for introducing me to it, and also for her generous referrals which led to a morning of mini-sessions in Virginia.

First up was a session with this lovely lady, who had just had her third birthday the day before! Along with her photos, we did family photos. I told her mom their family would definitely go in my “what to wear” to file – they looked fantastic!
