One sesson – Four different editing styles

Here are a few images from a photo session of my son Del at 4 months old. They were all shot in the same room with mid-afternoon natural light from the large windows, but edited four different ways. First, a very  natural, cool-toned style:

Here are nicely balanced black and white images:

These next images are moderately desaturated:

And finally, a warm-toned, higher-saturated and over-exposed image. These happen to be my favorites.

Arboretum Mini-Sessions

I LOVE my job!

I just spent the day editing the photos taken with three beautiful families at the Arboretum on Sunday morning. I am just in love with every image. Haveyou ever seen more beautiful children?

First Birthday Girl

Ann and her stunningly beautiful daughter are friends of mine – Miss V. was born just a few months before Del, and Ann has been a delightful guide into all the wonderful world of mommy-land. Miss V.’s first birthday was a first for us too: first family invite to a kid’s birthday party and Del’s first birthday party. He really barely noticed, but we had a blast and I was so happy to provide Ann with these photos of her birthday girl.

Personal coach gets a new business look

Like myself, Gideon Culman is working on building a new business doing the thing he loves. His personal coaching business has helped several people I know to accomplish exciting goals. Gideon and I spent about 45 minutes getting some engaging head shots to enhance his website and professional social networks. In addition to a fun session, Gideon gave me a few pointers for making bold choices to take me in the direction of success. I know he’d be a great coach, if you are in need of help reaching some life goals.

Thanks, Gideon!

Headshots with a local celeb

I know Charlie through the DC improv theater scene, and that makes me feel kinda proud because Charlie recently conceived, produced and hosted a live, late-night variety show run that knocked DC’s socks off. So I was pumped when he contacted me for headshots. He looked fabulously dapper in his grey suit and was an easy subject to photograph. I really love some of these shots. If you wish to be further tantalized, see this Washington Post article about his show and “like” the show on Facebook.

Thanks, Charlie, and I can’t wait to see what comes next for you!

Grow Baby Sessions

Red Turtle Photography offers GrowBaby! sessions – a series of three baby sessions to be used during your little one’s first year. It’s a wonderful way to capture that amazing year of change in your baby’s life. And, as a photographer, it’s so much fun to use the same landmarks – like a nursery rocking chair – to highlight those changes. Then it’s easy to display those images for everyone to enjoy.

Final Session with Baby John

I LOVED shooting this three session with little John! I took his first set of pictures when he was less than 2 weeks old, the second set around six months, and the final set at 15 months. (We missed the one year mark, because I was home with my own newborn!)

Here are a few of John’s final session with me.
